Panoramic sea view from the apartment windows

The spirit of the house

About

We stumbled into Houlgate one weekend when Paris weather had us packing the car. Four hours later we were on the sand. From the first walk along the beach, we knew we'd be back.

We fell for the apartment for the right reasons: the morning light, the view that takes up the entire living room, the sound of the sea when the windows are open — and the silence when they're closed. We renovated it keeping the soul of the house, those simple volumes of seaside Belle Époque architecture.

We share it because we're not here all the time, and we like the idea of others enjoying it the way we do: a coffee while watching the tide recede, a card game in the evening, a sunset on the dyke. It's a family apartment — please treat it as one.

Linen is provided, beds are made on arrival, and there's always coffee and dishwasher tablets in the cupboard. For everything else — Mélyssa and I reply quickly by message. And if you're lucky enough to catch an orange sunset over the sea, you'll understand the name.
